B (For British) Troop Biography Summary The following biographical information is to inform browsers and interested parties about our team members and what interesting lives they lead. WDRG Expeditionary Unit [UK Contingent] .. UK Biographies still to be uploaded watch out this week for more! Major: Gary A Wallace OC Expedition and OC UK Contingent Professional and academic interests include Teaching of Design & Technology, Explosives Engineering and as a time served Motor Vehicle Mechanic. I have degrees in BA Human Resource Management and Bachelor of Technological Education (Hons). I have previously worked in the Energy sector both Renewable and as an Oil Extraction Perforating Engineer. Has many transport and logisitics experience from both civilian and military disciplines. Have been part of military for over 34 years as a Paratrooper (30 years) and Currently part of a Transport Regiment Reservist. Holding rank of Major and Officer Commanding a Headquarters Squadron in Scotland. Was previously a Signals Officer as well! Have many wide and varied interests including skiing, martial arts (Karate, Aikido and Iaido) and American Football (played with a local amateur team for 10 years) Likes to promote chappist behaviour and to dress well with waistcoats, briar pipes, suitable hats and good brogues to the forefront. Likes to smoke the odd hookah now and again.
Lt: Andy Kirk Communications Officer Qualified electrical and chemical engineer. Time served telcoms engineer of 10 years. Have worked in the past as a proffessional musician with brass and jazz bands, having played with the Scottish National Orchestra. Various roles in the hospitality and hotel trade starting as waiter and ending up as manager.
Sgt: Sam Watson Desert Guide Geography and Science teacher from northern England, ex TA infantry. Awarded Fellowship of Royal Geographical Society for mapping work in northern Egyptian desert and also western flank of Mount Kenya. Spent three years as a desert guide in Egypt and has also taken groups to Jordan and Tanzania as well as the Moroccan and Tunisian Sahara. Keen bibliophile, especially first editions connected with desert exploration. Member of Royal Institute of Navigation, especial interest in desert navigation. Married to his Land Rover, although currently actively considering bigamy with tolerant human female who doesn't seem to mind maps, tyres and ration boxes everywhere.
OTC Midshipsman: Oliver Lane Trainee Navigator Oliver is currently fulfilling a childhood dream of undertaking a Military Education - Reading War Studies at a Birmingham University and receiving basic Officer Training from the Royal Navy URNU unit at HMS Forward. Upon completion of his three year degree course in 2010 he hopes to join the Britannia Royal Naval College at Dartmouth and train to become a Warfare Officer in the RN. Relevant hobbies include walking, camping, and Brandy, as far as his student loan will allow Cpl: Neil Lennon Driver/Radio Operator Born in Motherwell Scotland 02 Dec 1964. Lived most of my life in the Toronto area Ontario Canada. Having done various jobs. Served in the 48th Highlanders of Canada 1985-1995 retiring with rank of Sgt. Joined Scottish Transport Regiment in 1995. Hobbies and interests include box lacrosse, supporting the Toronto Maple Leafs, Sci-Fi and almost anything to do with history.
